2003-11-03 - 8:25 p.m. My Monday classes are horrible. The first class is Ethics which started out promising, especially since being a Mormon, I have some pretty definite moral opinions. But today the lecture was on what constitutes malpractice and what types of malpractice insurance there are. Yuck! The professor is like a female Ben Stein anyway, so that just makes the whole insurance topic even more brain numbing. My second class, Conceptual Bases of Professional Nursing could be just as much of a snooze fest except that there is always the interesting tidbit of exactly how the professor is going to get out of lecturing this week. So far we have had two guest speakers, one conflict resolution workshop run by another professor and two days of student presentations. (And we have only had nine classes) Today the guest speaker was very interesting. She is an RN who is a systems analyst for GMC. She actually is working witht the medical center to become "paperless" It's still a long way off, but they are making strides and probably about the time that I graduate (2005) they will be partly paperless. It's a good thing to me, since those thick charts scare me! I love technology and computers and maybe I will look into this field after I graduate, especially if the bedside nursing gets to me.
