2003-12-30 - 1:25 p.m. Christmas is over and the new year is creeping towards me. I abandoned most of the homemade Christmas gifts. (Well, except for the eclairs which were such a hit that my husband went out and bought the ingredients so that I can make a second batch! I have a picture of my mom eating one Christmas morning. (It was her third eclair in 5 minutes, so they must have been really good) Of course, my mom is not like most, she loves anything I cook or bake since she does neither. My dad on the other hand, what a critic he is! I had decided that if he made one remark about Christmas dinner being too this or not enough that that I was going to sweetly say, "Do you know what I want for Christmas next year? For you to sit here and eat just one meal that I have prepared and tell me it's good and nothing else!" But he behaved, and our meal was pretty good, although he did have a few choice comments about the meatloaf. I let that roll off my back though because I knew the meatloaf would have been better if we had eaten it Christmas Eve like we were supposed to. Parents! They can be worse than children sometimes!
