New Year's Eve. For those of us non-champagne drinking, heading toward middle-age married folks, it's just another day off. My husband and I have half-heartedly tried to get into the party spirit but we really aren't interested. We have attended a couple of "First Night" celebrations in Atlanta. (We went the first year they had one and it was great.) But driving the 45-60 minutes home is a little nerve wracking. I start to think that everyone driving at 1 or 2 in the morning is a drunk driving waiting to crash into us. So we always stayed close to home after that. Our local town is having a First Night celebration tonight and the Young Women from church sold tickets. Well, how could we not go now? The young women got half of each ticket for camp money, so it's for a good cause. And I think our son (who's 9) will enjoy it this year. The grand finale is indoors, so I hope there will be a balloon drop. Happy New Year everyone, hopefully 2004 will be great!
