2004-01-13 - 4:23 p.m. I made it through an entire week of classes. I will be having my clinicals at the local hospital and mental health facility, which is a good thing. Some people are going to be driving a long way to their clinicals. I have so much work piled on me, it's almost funny. The most puzzling thing to me is our clinical journals. We have to keep a journal of our experiences at clinical, which I understand. Clinical is a pass/fail course and the only thing the profs can measure is "our growth" so in other words the journal needs to be Oops, I'll never do that again. Recognizing that I made a mistake is a good thing. Understanding how to fix the mistake, or avoid it next time-even better. So why do we have to take notes on our chapters in our textbooks and include them in our journal? This I just don't understand. But there are a lot of things about nursing school that I just don't understand. That is for another post though!
